I’ve been a Toastmaster since 2002, when I first joined a club in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Toastmasters has been a constant in my life ever since, so much so that when I moved to New Westminster, BC in 2013, the very first thing I did was join a club. I hadn’t even found a place to live yet.

Over the years, I’ve taken on many club officer roles, competed in countless speech contests, and served as an Area Director in both Nova Scotia and British Columbia. In 2015, I started helping with the District 96 website during the Spring Conference, and the following year I built the main District 96 website as my High Performance Leadership project. In 2021, I began working on the District 21 website and conference sites as well. When District 96 merged with District 21 in 2025, I was honestly relieved—it meant I finally only had one site to maintain.

Outside of Toastmasters, I work as a web developer for the City of Burnaby. When I’m off the clock, you’ll usually find me collecting or listening to vinyl records, singing questionable karaoke, or at the gym. I also have a reputation for posting somewhat daily Dad Jokes on Facebook, much to the delight (or groans) of friends who follow along.

I live in New Westminster with my wife, Pamela, and my son, Sam. I also have two stepchildren: Victoria, who lives in Melbourne, and Matt, who lives in Vancouver.
